STORYBOARD
The storyboard is a visual representation of the script; it’s the blueprint. It’s purpose is to flesh out the how and the why and where as well. With it you can easily see if a gag that might have sounded funny on paper will work visually. You can also see whether a sequence will need to be cut due to budget constraints or if it will take too long to do within the confines of the given airtime. Some soundtracks are recorded based on dialog created by the storyboard artist and many cosider storyboarding to be the most difficult part of pre-production.
